Symplan is an urban and social planning practice that has specialised in supporting State and Local government in developing strategies that enhance health and wellbeing outcomes at the community level.

The principal, Bonnie Rosen, is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and a Certified Practising Planner. She is also an accredited mediator with the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (UK).


Bonnie has nearly 25 years experience in Australia, the United Kingdom and South Africa in strategic planning, impact assessment and working with stakeholders and community groups in identifying their needs, aspirations, expectations and priorities. She has also lectured in  social and urban planning at the University of Melbourne, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Victoria University and Australia National University. Bonnie is regularly called upon to train local government officers and international planners in the theory and practice of designing safe and healthy cities.
